Ad tracking for yoga studios

Adsu follows a click on an Instagram or Google ad to the intro offer bought online, to the class pack or unlimited membership paid in Mindbody or WellnessLiving, and credits that revenue to the ad. Auto-renewing memberships keep paying the ad that found them, a Mailchimp link keeps its own credit, and each studio reports on its own line.

The question every studio owner asks

Which ad brought the students who stayed, and which one only sold intro offers? Meta reports intro purchases; your billing system reports memberships; neither one talks to the other, so the ad that fills the intro offer looks like the winner even when its students vanish after two weeks. The ad account and the front desk disagree because the platform stops counting at the intro checkout, while the studio only earns when the intro becomes a pack or an unlimited membership that renews. Attribution, in plain words, is matching each paying student back to the click that started them. This is how Adsu follows an ad to a paying student.

How the chain runs in your stack

A yoga studio runs Mindbody or WellnessLiving for the schedule, the intro offer and the memberships, Square at the desk for retail and drop-ins, Mailchimp for the newsletter and the intro-offer follow-up, and Meta and Google Ads for the ads. Adsu takes the payments and the student behind them from Mindbody or WellnessLiving, keeps a Mailchimp click credited to the email it came from, and takes campaign and spend from the ad accounts.

  1. 01

A click on the intro-offer ad

An Instagram story or a Google search ad sells the intro offer. The tap is tied to the campaign that ran it, and a link in a Mailchimp email keeps its own credit.

  2. 02

A name attaches to the visit

The student books a first class or checks out the intro offer on your site, and a name and email now sit behind the visit that began with the ad.

  3. 03

    The intro offer is paid

The first payment clears in Mindbody or WellnessLiving, which also tells Adsu which student it belongs to and which studio took it. This is where the ad earns its first credit.

  4. 04

The intro ends and they choose

A class pack or an unlimited membership is the payment that matters. It is credited to the same click that sold the intro, so the ad is judged on students, not on intro sales.

  5. 05

    The membership auto-renews

Each renewal is carried as revenue from the ad that found the student, month after month, without being counted as a new conversion.

  6. 06

A refund or a lapse takes it back

Refunds reduce the revenue the ad is credited with, and a student who never buys after the intro adds nothing more. A campaign whose students leave after the intro shows it in the line, not in a lead count.

The economics Adsu tracks

  • Cost per introThe campaign's spend divided by the intro offers it sold. The number every studio already watches, and the one that says least about the year ahead.
  • Cost per memberThe same spend divided by the students from that campaign who bought a class pack or an unlimited membership after the intro. The number that decides whether the campaign runs next month.
  • Intro to membership, by sourceStudents who bought again after the intro compared with students who only bought the intro, campaign by campaign, so an ad that sells intros to people who never return stops looking like the winner.
  • Revenue per student from an adThe intro payment plus every renewal after it, net of refunds, credited to the campaign, so an unlimited student found by a Google ad and a pack buyer found by an Instagram ad each show what they were worth.

Intro bought online, classes attended at another studio

A student buys the intro offer online from an ad for your downtown studio, then attends every class at the one near her office. Adsu credits her to the studio whose payment account took the money, because the payment, not the campaign name or the landing page, decides the location. Each studio maps its own Mindbody site or WellnessLiving location to its own Adsu location, and the ad account can serve both. You read cost per member for each studio on its own line; when two studios advertise into the same neighbourhood, you see which one's ads the students actually paid.

Questions, answered.

  • Your billing system's job is to know who attended and who paid. Adsu's job is the other end of the chain: which ad, email or search sent that student, what the campaign spent, and which studio took the payment. It reads the payment and the student from Mindbody or WellnessLiving and joins them to the click, so the ad is credited with the student, not just the intro sale.

  • They count as revenue credited to the ad, and the line shows what they paid. A class pack and an unlimited membership are both payments after the intro; the difference shows up in revenue per student by source, where the students who renew keep adding to the ad that found them.

  • The intro purchase is the first payment, so it is where the student is first credited to the ad. The pack or membership after it is carried against the same click. You see both on the line: what the campaign sold, and what it produced.

  • A payment that never reaches a connected billing system cannot be matched to the click, so Adsu leaves it out and says so rather than guessing. Every intro offer that runs through the systems you connected counts.

  • Yes. A Mailchimp link keeps its recipient credit, so a student who clicked the newsletter and bought is credited to that email rather than lumped in with the ad or with direct traffic. Ads and email sit side by side on the report.
